1 INTRODUCTION

Breast carcinoma is one of the most common cancers among women worldwide, symbolizing one of the main causes of female mortality. Chemotherapy produces numerous adverse effects that can impair physical and psychological well-being, reinforcing the importance of body practice as a non-pharmacological strategy.

2 METHODOLOGY

This cross-sectional study included 30 women diagnosed with breast cancer, aged 18 years or older, undergoing chemotherapy and assisted by the support group ‘Mulheres de Peito’ in Aracaju-SE. Data were collected through the IPAQ questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS 27. Ethical approval: CAAE 76991223.1.0000.5546.

3 RESULTS

The results indicated that 35.5% of women were active, 32.3% insufficiently active, 16.1% sedentary, and 12.9% very active. Most participants had incomplete education and income of one to two minimum wages, with a predominance of married women.

4 DISCUSSION

The data corroborate that maintaining physical activity during chemotherapy mitigates adverse effects, improves functional capacity, and enhances emotional well-being. Studies such as Cannioto et al. (2020) reinforce the protective impact of regular physical activity on survival and recurrence reduction.

5 CONCLUSION

Chemotherapy significantly impacts women’s lifestyle and health. Maintaining an active routine improves quality of life, reduces symptoms, and supports functional recovery. Promoting active habits is essential to integrative cancer care.
